BIG NEWS!!! We’ve been working behind the scenes to transition one of our very favorite local fiber festival to be OUR local fiber festival. Today, that was completed! Melinda Boss Mare Shearing and I are the new team behind Fayette County Fiber Festival and we’ve got lots of cool stuff in the works for the next festival JUNE 19, 2027!

Slow Stitching – I’ve been working on some cross-stitch projects. Long May Ewe Wave and some others. On the wheel – Spinning some batts I picked up at my last show on the Hansen e-spinner On the needles – Knit 2 new hats in the French Toasty pattern by Janis Ficker. One hat is the SAFF signature colorway 2025 for me (Rainbow Trout) and the other hat is knit in Queen City Yarn Latta Bulky

What's Happening at Ross Farm
The Historic 1910 Ross Farm Barn is gone
I suppose I should say something. It’s on the news now so everyone will know. My personal version of hell keeps expanding. Last night around 11pm I got a call that the iconic big barn at the farm was “fully engulfed” and a total loss. All of our heritage and rare breed sheep were in the barn. They were due to lamb in 12 days. They did not survive. The skid loader’s tracks were frozen.

Foundation work begins on the old new barn
Yesterday was filled with ALL the emotions. The bulldozer arrived to start the site prep for the barn move. You expect to be excited. New barn! Moving forward! Historic barn saved! This is great! Then you remember your great-grandpa you never met built the old one with his own hands. Your grandfather you never met forged the nails in the blacksmith shop on the property.
