On February 2nd at 11PM, I got a call that the iconic big barn at the Ross Farm was “fully engulfed” and a total loss. All our heritage and rare breed sheep were in the barn; they were due to lamb in 12 days. They did not survive. Along with the sheep and the barn, we lost tools, farm equipment, and basically my history and my future.
Our flock manager, Melinda Wamsley of Boss Mare Shearing, also lost her whole flock and all her shearing equipment.
Your generous donation will help us get back on our feet. While we are insured, there will still be a sizable gap between what insurance covers and the actual cost of rebuilding. The livestock was not insured. A portion of your donation will be shared with Mel as the entire Ross Farm family rebuilds not just our barn but our flocks and our lives.
