Sheep and Wool School – Episode 14

On the wheel – Spun and plied new Fractal samples for my upcoming classes. Spun up all the samples from Ply Away 2018 & 2019. On the needles – Absolutely nothing due to the raging tendinitis in my left wrist and now my right wrist too. Slow Stitching – Iโ€™ve been working on some cross-stitch projects since Iโ€™m able to hold the frame with my left hand in a brace Sheep & Wool School – SUMMER BREAK – Julyโ€™s breed will be Border Leicester. Sewing Stuff – I finished Mayโ€™s Polka Dot Pincushion UFO Challenge Project which is a Christmas Wall Hanging Quilt from Fons & Porterโ€™s For the Love of Quilting from December of 1999! This monthโ€™s project is a bench pillow with a schoolhouse theme. I also purchased the Mystery Quilt from Ethelโ€™s Quilt Shop in Sandusky. Out and About – Great Lakes Fiber Show, Maine Fiber Frolic and Fayette County Fiber Festival recap. Check out the Table Ten Podcast with our new friends Rachel & Renee! @TableTenPodcast In Season – Gardening, top-down motoring, Farmerโ€™s Market opening, Szalayโ€™s opening and summer arrives!! On Down the Road – No MAFA for me because of the wrists and the pinched nerve in my back Contemporary Handweavers Guild in Houston in two weeks. Spaces available. Weโ€™ve added Michigan Fiber Festival (6 classes!), Flock Fiber Festival (6 classes!), DFW vending, classes and judging the fleece show at Lambtown and 7 CLASSES at SAFF! Iโ€™m already tired.

Sheep and Wool School – Episode 13

Intro – Welcome! On the wheel – Spun up the Classy Squid Rolags on the Hansen mini-spinner. They are GORGEOUS! I also spun up all the samples that have been living in a tote bag since Ply Away 2018 & 2019. On the needles – Additional progress was made on a new Hitofude in my new yarn โ€œEweniceโ€. Then I managed to give myself tendonitis in my wrist just in time to load and drive to MDSW. Prednisone got me through the weekend! Sheep & Wool School – This monthโ€™s breed is Shetland in honor of Scooterpie. Letโ€™s talk about these adorable little sheep. Sewing Stuff – I finished the paper pieced blocks to make a Riley Blake Raindrops pillow. I started this monthโ€™s Polka Dot Pincushion UFO Challenge Project which is the Christmas Wishes Wall Quilt from Fons & Porterโ€™s For the Love of Quilting from December of 1999! I discovered I somehow bought the materials for TWO of these, so Iโ€™m making one for me and one to give as a gift. Iโ€™m also working on a memorial project for my BFF Bethโ€™s father who just passed away in December. New and Noteworthy – MORE NEW YARNS!!! New felted wool insoles made of Shetland and CVM. Out and About – MDSW Recap! Drewโ€™s birthday! Baby donkey Shasta. In Season – Gardening, Mother’s Day, top-down motoring, wonderful smells in the CVNP and more gardening! On Down the Road – Vending at Great Lakes Fiber Show and judging and teaching at MAINE FIBER FROLIC will round out the show season in May. Mid-Atlantic Fiber Associationโ€™s
