Intro – Welcome!
On the wheel – Spun up the Classy Squid Rolags on the Hansen mini-spinner. They are GORGEOUS! I also spun up all the samples that have been living in a tote bag since Ply Away 2018 & 2019.
On the needles – Additional progress was made on a new Hitofude in my new yarn โEweniceโ. Then I managed to give myself tendonitis in my wrist just in time to load and drive to MDSW. Prednisone got me through the weekend!
Sheep & Wool School – This monthโs breed is Shetland in honor of Scooterpie. Letโs talk about these adorable little sheep.
Sewing Stuff – I finished the paper pieced blocks to make a Riley Blake Raindrops pillow. I started this monthโs Polka Dot Pincushion UFO Challenge Project which is the Christmas Wishes Wall Quilt from Fons & Porterโs For the Love of Quilting from December of 1999! I discovered I somehow bought the materials for TWO of these, so Iโm making one for me and one to give as a gift. Iโm also working on a memorial project for my BFF Bethโs father who just passed away in December.
New and Noteworthy – MORE NEW YARNS!!! New felted wool insoles made of Shetland and CVM. Out and About – MDSW Recap! Drewโs birthday! Baby donkey Shasta. In Season – Gardening, Mother’s Day, top-down motoring, wonderful smells in the CVNP and more gardening!
On Down the Road – Vending at Great Lakes Fiber Show and judging and teaching at MAINE FIBER FROLIC will round out the show season in May. Mid-Atlantic Fiber Associationโs conference at Millersville University in PA is late June. Contemporary Handweavers Guild in Houston in mid-July too. Time to start talking about late-summer and fall shows too! Weโve added Michigan Fiber Festival (6 classes!), Flock Fiber Festival (6 classes!), DFW vending, classes and judging the fleece show at Lambtown and 7 CLASSES at SAFF! Itโs going to get crazy!
