SUMMARY:Sheep and Wool School: The Primitives - Lambtown 2026
DESCRIPTION:In this class\, we will experience several breeds of “Primitive” style sheep. Included will be some you may have worked with before and some you may never have even heard of yet! Amy scours (see what we did there?) the fields looking for oddball rare breeds to bring to class and she hopes you’ll find a new favorite! We will start with her favorite primitive which has been used to from a lovely island off the coast of Virginia\, and talk about not only the history and attributes of these awesome sheep\, but also their application in your fiber arts journey whether you are a spinner\, knitter\, crocheter\, or weaver. \n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\nSheep to Shawl Barn Back \n\n\n\nNote: All classrooms are on the Dixon May Fairgrounds\, 655 S 1st St\, Dixon\, CA\, and students will get free admission on the day of their workshop(s). \n\n\n\nExperience Level\n\n\n\nBeginning Level Skills Knows how to spin and ply OR can be knit/crochet/weave (pin-loom) \n\n\n\nMaterials instructor will supply for students\n\n\n\nhandout\, raw fleece \n\n\n\nStudents need to bring\n\n\n\nSpinners: any basic fiber prep equipment you have – flicker\, hand cards\, combs – as well as a working spinning wheel or spindles. Knitters or Crocheters: needles or hooks appropriate for DK/Worsted weight yarn
